Celebrities including Brooke Shields and Julianne Moore are supporting New York charity Reach Out And Read, which encourages parents to read aloud to their children.

Stars will read selected children's books to an adult audience as part of a Starry Night Stories event in aid of Bellevue Hospital on October 3, celebrating the 15th anniversary of the programme. Other participants include Billy Crudup and John C Reilly.
